Lashes and brows, made just for you

My name is Lauryke. I am a lash artist and threading technician who listens carefully, looks at your face shape and your natural lashes, and works with you to create comfortable, beautiful lashes and brows that suit your features and your lifestyle, and that you will absolutely love.

Everything here is done with a whole lot of care. Every set begins with a consultation, my diary is kept deliberately small, and many clients reserve their next appointment months ahead. That is how every visit stays unhurried.

Woke Up This Way began as a home studio and is now its own salon at 15 Huising Street, Somerset West, with the same care in a calmer, bigger space.

Every lash set includes a consultation, where we look at your eyes, face shape and natural lashes and choose the look together. Fills are only available for lashes done by me. Prices are in South African Rand (ZAR).

Frequently asked questions

How long do eyelash extensions last?

Your lashes shed naturally on their own cycle, so most clients come in for a fill every 2 to 4 weeks to keep their set looking full. The sweet spot is 3 weeks. Fill pricing is shown for each lash style above.

What is the difference between the lash sets?

Classic is the most natural look, Light Volume is the most popular everyday set, Volume & Texture adds a noticeable pop, and Extra Volume is the fullest, most dramatic option. At your consultation we choose together, based on your face shape, your eyes and your lifestyle.

Can I get a fill on lashes done elsewhere?

Fills are only available for lashes done by me. If you are coming from another artist, book a fresh full set. A soak-off is available if you have existing extensions.

Do you do brows too?

Yes. Threading with mapping and shaping, brow and lash tinting, full-face threading, and brow and lip combinations. Add threading to a lash appointment for the discounted "with lashes" rate.

How far ahead should I book?

My diary fills well ahead, and many regulars reserve their next appointment up to six months in advance. Message me on WhatsApp and I will find the earliest space for you.

Do you offer weekday appointments?

Yes. Some Monday, Wednesday and Friday slots are kept for new lash sets, which suits clients with flexible weekdays, such as estate agents.

Where are you based?

15 Huising Street, Somerset West, serving clients from Somerset West and Stellenbosch.

Once you are in Huising Street, you can either park at Sanook's parking lot (the gates open at 9am) and walk across Caledon Street to 15 Huising Street, or drive up to the studio and park in the street. There is no yellow line in front.

My salon is in the same building as the Rose McFall property agency, just below and to the left. Please see the photos for reference.

When you arrive, WhatsApp me or press the McRose intercom, and they will let you in.

Please arrive no more than 5 minutes before your appointment, as I do not have an inside waiting area just yet.

Aftercare

A small ritual to keep them beautiful

A little daily care keeps your set looking fuller for longer.

  • Cleanse daily: gently wash your lashes with a lash-safe foam cleanser to keep them fresh and help them last.
  • Brush them out: a quick brush each morning keeps everything neat. Pro tip: focus the brush on the top half of your extensions only. The base of an extension is thicker than your natural lash, so brushing at the base can make it pop off.
  • Hands off: avoid rubbing, picking or pulling, and let lashes shed naturally.
  • Skip oil-based products around the eyes, as oils can break down the adhesive.
  • No mechanical lash curlers, and avoid waterproof mascara on extensions.
  • Book fills every 2 to 4 weeks to keep your set looking full.
